Shelf-Life Protocol
Declared Shelf Life
Each FRONTIER¹ QRR unit has a minimum shelf life of 24 months from the date of production. The Best Before date is clearly indicated on every unit. Shelf life is valid only under compliant storage conditions.
Recommended Storage Conditions
To ensure microbiological stability and preserve nutritional value:
• Store between +15 °C and +20 °C in a dry, shaded environment
• Avoid direct sunlight, temperature fluctuations, and high humidity
• Do not store in vehicles, containers or unventilated spaces for extended periods
• Do not freeze for prolonged time
• Keep sealed in original foil until use
Operational Exposure (Short-Term Only)
QRR units are thermally engineered to withstand short-term operational extremes:
• Cold exposure down to –20 °C (e.g. alpine or arctic transport)
• Heat exposure up to +70 °C (e.g. container transit, desert deployment)
Such exposure is non-cumulative and must be followed by timely consumption. These conditions do not extend or reset shelf life.
Degradation Risk
Exposure to temperatures above +30 °C for extended periods may accelerate oxidation, alter texture and reduce organoleptic quality. Within shelf life, the product remains microbiologically safe but may show reduced flavour or performance consistency.
Packaging Integrity
QRR units must remain factory-sealed. Once opened, the bar must be consumed immediately. Do not reseal or refrigerate after opening.
Post-Shelf Life Use
Consumption after the Best Before date is not advised. Nutritional quality, taste and microbiological safety can no longer be assured.
